Thyroid Nutrition Counselling with a Registered Dietitian | Ontario & Nova Scotia
Your thyroid affects almost everything. Your nutrition support should reflect that.
Whether your thyroid is underactive or overactive, the effects ripple through your entire body: your energy, weight, cycle, mood, digestion, skin, and hair. We help you understand how nutrition fits into your thyroid care and build a personalized approach that works alongside your medical team.

Common Reasons Women Seek Thyroid Nutrition Support
You might be here because…

Fatigue & Low Energy
You’re exhausted no matter how much you rest. Brain fog, sluggishness, and a body that just won’t cooperate, and you’re not sure what to do about it.

Unexplained Weight Changes
Your weight has shifted without changes to your habits, and the usual advice isn’t helping. You’re looking for a sustainable, weight-neutral approach that actually makes sense for your body.

Constipation & Digestive Issues
Your digestion has slowed down and it’s affecting your daily comfort and quality of life.

Confused About Supplements & Medication Timing
You’re not sure which supplements to take, when to take them, or how to avoid food and drug interactions with your thyroid medication.

Anxiety & Absent Cycle
Your body feels like it’s running on overdrive. Racing thoughts, a missing period, and changes to your skin and hair that have you searching for answers.

Unsure What to Eat
You’ve heard certain foods can make things worse but don’t know what to avoid or why.

Worried About Bone Health
You know hyperthyroidism can affect your bones but you’re not sure if you’re getting enough calcium or what else you can do to protect them.
How Bloom Nutrition Supports People with Thyroid Conditions
We work alongside your medical team, not around them.
Our Approach
Thyroid conditions are rarely one-size-fits-all.
Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism affect your body in different ways, and your nutrition support should reflect that. We look at your full picture — your health history, bloodwork, lifestyle, eating habits, and goals — and build a realistic, personalized plan that addresses your symptoms, supports your treatment, and fits into your actual life.
What to Expect
We start by getting to know you: your history, labs, habits, and goals.
From there, every session is built around what’s most relevant to you like medication timing, key nutrients, digestion, bone health, weight management, or rebuilding your relationship with food. You’ll leave with a written summary of your goals and our recommendations, plus recipes and tip sheets to take home.
Your first step is a free, no-pressure discovery call with us.
We’ll spend a few minutes getting to know each other, answering your questions, and making sure we’re the right fit before you commit to anything.

Everything you want to know before your first appointment.
Do my insurance benefits cover dietetic services?
Many extended health benefit plans offer coverage for registered dietitian services. However, coverage can vary depending on your specific plan. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm the details of your coverage. After your session, you will receive an official receipt that can be submitted to your insurer for reimbursement. Please ask about direct billing, as we do offer it for many insurance providers.
Can I self-refer? Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Yes! You do not need a referral from another healthcare provider to book an appointment. Many clients choose to self-refer.
